πŸ”¨mK Battle School (Single Player)

Describes how the Single Player mK Battle School game works

Introduction

Single Player Mode or SPM is a simplified version of the mkBattle Kitchen that introduces the chefs to mkBattle rules, methods, and strategies. SPM introduces the chefs to the concept of creating a Dish.

What is a Dish? A dish is the fundamental component of each mK Battle. To make a Dish a chef must do the following:

  1. Select a Recipe upon which to base the Dish. Normally this Recipe would include the Mystery Ingredient as all Dishes MUST incorporate the Mystery Ingredient.

  2. Select the Ingredients to be included. In some cases you may choose to substitute some of the Ingredients for others (especially if you are missing some of the ingredients). Try to substitute like items (one grain for another for example). Special consideration is given when using the Mystery Ingredient as a substitute for suitable Ingredients.

  3. Select the Utensils. Just like Ingredients if you don't have some of the required Utensils you may choose a substitute. Again try to choose a like item (e.g.: another sharp thing instead of a knife).

  4. Submit the Dish

The SPM version of the game involves a single round of play in which the chef pays an entry fee in $CHEF of half the cost of the current ingredient or utensil in store in return for an attempt to create a Dish that must score above the posted Dish Score. If successful the chef will be rewarded with a free IUNFT mint from the current available items in store.

Dish Score: An integer score between 0 and 100 that assesses the culinary prowess of a submitted Dish. During each round of play a chef must submit a Dish that receives a Dish Score from the System.

Creating a Dish and then submitting it for automated judging is the core activity for the chef. To pump up the fun there are many system generated quips and messages that help guide the user and narrate the game progress and the chefs successes and failures

Setup

  1. Browse Schools: Chefs can browse all the different culinary schools that offer Single Player training. Each of the schools has a culinary tradition as well as a minimum Dish Score required to win a SPM battle.

  2. Enter School: A chef can enter any school provided they pay the posted entrance fee. Once inside a chef can enter a SPM battle.

  3. Battle the System: A chef enters SPM battle against the masters of the school. If the Dish they prepare meets the score required then they win.

SPM - Method of Play

This section outlines the basic mechanics of a round of play. In this game each round is called a 'course' in which a chef creates a Dish that MUST include the Secret Ingredient.

Select a metaChef

Select a metaChef from your collection to participate in the battle.

If you are have joined an Arena in PvP mode you must select one of the metaChefs you select when entering the Arena.

Mystery Ingredient

To start each round a Mystery Ingredient is selected. This ingredient is always provide in by the house and can be used to compose a recipe even if the chef does not possess that ingredient NFT.

Create a Dish

  1. Choose a Recipe: Each chef must select a Recipe that includes the Mystery ingredient.

  2. Select Ingredients: In addition to the Mystery Ingredient the chef selects the rest of the ingredients they will add to the recipe. They can use substitutions if they choose but this lowers the score of the Dish.

  3. Make with Utensils: Select the Utensils that will be used to create the Dish. This may include some substituted Utensils.

  4. Submit Dish: Press the submit button before time expires.

Judges Decision

Once a dish has been submitted it is processed by the judges and a score sheet is returned to the user letting them know if they reached the required Dish Score. If the required Dish score is achieved the winnings are transferred to the appropriate account.
